Zanskar Rafting Expedition
We begin our multi days trip from Stod River and go down to the river Zanskar all the way enjoying the Trans- Himalayan region. Other places of attraction are the western part of Ladakh, monasteries, and palaces. Exploring the villages, hiking around the region and traveling in one of the most fascinating places on the planet. After this, we will stay for a couple of days in Leh and then drive past the towns of Kargil to the valley of Zanskar, one of the coldest places on earth.

Starting the trip on the Stod River, we begin our self contained multi-day river adventure down the spectacular and scenic Zanskar river gorge. Our "special" yearly feature drives through most of western Ladakh, monasteries, palaces, villages, hikes and travel to one of the most surreal places on the planet.
The trip begins with a flight over the Himalayas into the Trans-Himalayan region of Ladakh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. We spend a couple of days in Leh town acclimatizing at 11,000 feet above sea level and visiting the ancient monasteries, palaces and villages around Leh. We then drive west of Leh past the town of Kargil and travel south into the valley of Zanskar, one of the coldest inhabited places on earth.
Day 01 :
Arrive at camp in the afternoon for lunch.
Post lunch, try your hand at activities like kayaking, river crossing, rappelling, rock climbing, etc.
with our expert instructors. Towards evening visit the Mahasu Devta Temple at Hanol. At night enjoy a bonfire and dinner by the riverside.
Day 02 :
Start the day with a hot breakfast and then get ready for a briefing on rafting techniques followed by a rafting run on the Tons.
Return to camp for lunch. Post lunch set off for rappelling and rock-climbing on the superb rock faces around camp with our instructors. Bonfire and dinner at camp.
Day 03 :
Post breakfast, drive to the roadhead for the trek and from here head out on the trek for 3-4 hrs.
the campsite, set up your tents for the night and then one has the option of going out to explore the area or you could lie back and relax at the campsite. In the night, bonfire and dinner under the canopy of stars.
Day 04 :
After breakfast enjoy bathing and swimming in natural rock pools and take time to enjoy the surroundings.
unch trek back to the road head and from here cycle back to the camp through the beautiful scenery all around. Arrive in time to relax by the fire and enjoy your dinner.
Day 05 :
Post breakfast, enjoy another rafting session to test your paddling skills.
Return to camp for lunch and departure to your onward destination.
Note : - Previous rafting and kayaking experience would help. This expedition requires a minimum of 6 committed rafters.
Accommodation will be provided throughout the trip as mentioned in the itinerary on twin sharing basis.
Meals: As per itinerary. Tea /coffee, snacks & drinking water during the trek or raft. All meals would be vegetarian.
English speaking & professionally trained mountain & river guide.
Kitchen staff would accompany the group on the expedition.
Porters / Mules will carry one bag per client ( not to exceed 10 Kgs)
Self bailing rafts will be provided to participants with maximum 6 /8 participants per raft.
For safety, Road support Camps Jeep(if road possible ), expert and qualified rescue kayakers will escort the Entire trip.
Use of equipment and the services of trained guides for outdoor activities.
All class rafting gear (rafts, life jackets, helmets, safety kayaks, dry bags).
Experienced river guides and kayak professionals with international Certifications for white water rescue and first aid /CPR.
River running permits and Rescue-3 International Certified Guides.
Accommodation in Delhi - We can arrange it if required. Rooms starting at Rs.2500 and upwards.
Additional meals/services not mentioned in the above.

Alcohol, beverages, soft drinks etc.
Personal expenses like tips, telephone calls, laundry, etc.
Any costs arising out of unforeseen circumstances like landslides, road blocks, bad weather, etc.

AGE GROUP & ABILITY
You need to fall into the age group of 12 years to 45 years. Adventure lovers should at Grade 3 and 4 rapids. Grade: III, IV water rapids without prior experience and expertise. The boat operator must be a swimmer and adept at all the essential techniques of river rafting. Being physically fit and sound is a must to enjoy these Upper Alaknanda rapids.
ACCESSORIES & EXPERIENCED
The wearing the raft gear including the life jacket, safety helmet and other essentials. Though, the approximate time taken to sail along is 4 clear days.
